Wade Phillips firing and a great week of NFL games
November 9th 2010 01:15
After his Cowboys team didn't put up a fight to Green Bay last night, Owner Jerry Jones decided to let go coach Wade Phillips. Wade finished with a record of 34-22 with the Cowboys, and 1-2 during the playoffs. Taking over the job now is former offensive coordinator Jason Garrett who was initially in line to take the job before Phillips arrived. Now he will have his shot to rebound from an already terrible season.
Yesterdays action included two blowouts, Packers over the Cowboys, and Giants dominating the Seahawks, though in addition had true edge of your seat drama. Seven of the games went right down to the wire with the decisions being less then six points, with three games going into overtime. Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets rallied to defeat Detriot in overtime, Brett Favre led the Minnesota Vikings to a comeback win in overtime versus Arizona. Oakland somehow defeated Kansas City in overtime.
Tonights game will be another game to add to this trend of the week. Not an overtime game but a game which will not be decided until the final two minutes as Pittsburgh will outlast Cincinnati.
