Update on NBA Lockout
July 17th 2011 02:38
Nothing to update, it seems the NBA owners and players are not working to get a deal done. There is still ample time to get something cooking, but it would be nice for at least talking between the sides. At least we have the NFL nearing a deal, as early as Wednesday. Right now all that is holding up a deal is resolving the Brady v NFL antitrust lawsuit and if the NFL players will resume a players union.
Time for the NBA commissioner David Stern to let us fans know how much money the league is really losing. Too many conflicting reports are out there, and it is making the league look bad. Are 22 teams really losing money or is that report bogus? Did the league really make money last year as is evidenced by the players getting escrow money?
The NBA is back after a great postseason, capped off by Dallas knocking off Miami in the finals. Now is time for these sides to get working on a new deal and keeping the league popular and relevent.
