Tressel hired at Indianapolis
September 3rd 2011 15:37
Former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel has been hired as a game-day consultant for the Indianapolis Colts.
Colts head coach Jim Caldwell has wanted to fill this position since he took the job. Tressel will help the team figure out if a challenge call is worth it or not.
Tressel had a record of 94-22 at Ohio State, but was forced out this year amidst scandal in Columbus. Tressel's assistant Luke Fickell inherited the team and will lead them onto the field today against Akron. Seven of the Buckeyes are suspended, eight if you count former quarterback Terrelle Pryor and they are starting a new quarterback. Thanks to Pryor leaving for the NFL, Joe Bauserman gets the start and may have the job for the season.
The Colts open the season at Houston on September, 11th. A number of new faces will be wearing Colts uniforms, including linebacker Ernie Sims, defensive tackle Tommie Harris, and now a familiar face will be upstairs working the game.
