Top College Basketball Games this Weekend

Ohio State at Wisconsin: Will top-ranked Ohio State lose this weekend? After projecting Ohio State to fall last weekend versus Minnesota, I am cautious to pick anyone against them. Wisconsin is better then Minnesota making this game even tougher. The Badgers are 18-5 and Ohio State remain 24-0. Employing one of the best defenses in the nation, the Badgers also have two great offensive stars. Jon Leur and Justin Taylor who average 37 points per game combined. I'm betting Coach Bo Ryan will employ a can't miss game-plan on how to slow down Ohio State freshman Jared Sullinger. Will this be enough? It's possible.
Pittsburgh at Villanova: Two top-ten teams from the Big East face off. Villanova in their five losses this season have gone down to teams who can shoot. Pittsburgh has guys who can shoot. After struggling to knock off West Virginia on Monday, the Pitt Panthers improved to 22-2 on the year. Junior guard Ashton Gibbs leads the Panthers with 16 points per game. He and Villanova guard Corey Fisher are slated for an battle here. Whoever wins the game will have their star player as the reason. Hard to go against the Wildcats on their home-court. Going with Villanova here despite coming off a heartbreaking loss to Rutgers.
Old Dominon at Virgina Commonwealth: A huge game for Colonial Division heirarchy. Old Dominion is two games behind Virginia Commonwealth, who is in a tie with George Mason for first place in the Colonial. Old Dominion was the pre-season pick by many to win the conference, and this game is a must-win. VCU is 20-6 and Old Dominion sits at 19-6 on the year. The Monarchs of Old Dominon are lead by forward Frank Hazell averaging 13 points and nine rebounds per game. Old Dominion has struggled to find points outside of starters causing the team to falter some. Virginia Commonwealth has two guys leading the way with Bradford Burgess and Jamie Skeen. Burgess at the shooting guard spot averages 14 points and six rebounds per game, Skeen scores 14 points and seven rebounds. The Rams from Virginia Commonwealth win a good game here, keeping pace with George Mason.
Arizona at Arizona State: The lone PAC-10 ranked team, Arizona travels to Tempe to face Arizona State on Sunday. Arizona moved up four spots to 16 after last weeks wild three-overtime victory over California. Arizona is 20-4 on the season, while the Sun Devils are 9-14. Arizona State coach Herb Sendek is having some problems with this team, but he will no doubt have them ready for Arizona. Guard Trent Lockett does a little bit of everything for Arizona State. He scores, averaging 14 points, rebounds with six a game, and distributes, three assists. A lack of anything inside has hurt Arizona State. Arizona has just the guy to take advantage of this in Derrick Williams who averages 20 points and eight rebounds per game. The Wildcats win a tough one.
