1. Magic Johnson- 12-time all-star, three-time NBA MVP. Won five titles with Lakers. Big guard, was an elite scorer, and distributor for team.


2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar- NBA's all-time leading scorer. Won five titles with Lakers. Defined the "hook shot" for big-men to follow him.

3. Kobe Bryant- huge find for Lakers out of high school. Great scorer, defender and leader on team. Won five titles thus far with team, may soon jump Jabbar and Johnson if more titles come.

4. Jerry West- could fill up a stat sheet. Great scorer, rebounder and passer for Lakers. Very smart, heady guard.

5. Elgin Baylor- 11-time all-star, made 10 all-nba teams.

6. George Mikan- part of early Lakers which won seven titles across various leagues. Big-time scorer and rebounder.

7. Shaquille O'Neal- huge part of the team's three straight titles. Defensive threat and big-time dunker. A liability at times because of free-throws, O'Neal ranks as one of the best centers of all-time.

8. James Worthy- won three titles with Lakers. A viable number one scoring option alongside Jabbar and Johnson.

9. Wilt Chamberlain- didn't last long as a Laker. Won the 1972 NBA Finals title with the team, and was rebounding champion.

10. Bob McAdoo- immediately won NBA titles after changing uniforms from Clippers to Lakers. Great big-man on team.


11. Gail Goodrich- four-time all-star is sixth in career points for Lakers franchise and seventh in assists.

12. Pau Gasol- key ingredient for Lakers recent success with Bryant. At times is invisible on the court, but a great all-around player most of the time.

13. Jamaal Wilkes- shooting whiz, made three all-star teams with Lakers. Won four titles.

14. Vern Mikkelsen- won five straight NBA titles as a member of the Minneapolis Lakers in the 50's. Great defender, known for being physical.

15. Derek Fisher- great clutch guy. Pass-first point guard who meshed well with dynamic personalities as a Laker.

16. Byron Scott- good wing player. Known for being smart and a good shooter. Good defender.

17. Michael Cooper- 1987 defensive player of the year, won five titles with Lakers. Five-time first-team member of the NBA all-defensive team. Great shut-down defender.

18. Robert Horry- another guy who is clutch. Horry nailed too many big shots to count on one hand in key games.

19. Mychal Thompson- lanky player was huge for Lakers in aiding Johnson and Worthy in title runs.

20. Lamar Odom- key player during Lakers title runs as a valuable sixth man or a starter if needed. Can play each position on the court.

I think James Worthy should be a little lower, but everybody has their minor tweaks. Good list, it does justice to the Lakers' greats.
