1. Hakeem Olajuwon- two-time NBA champion, amongst the best centers in the league history. Consistent player who scored over 20 points and 10 rebounds it seemed for the Rockets every night.
2. Moses Malone- two-time NBA MVP, four all-star appearances, one NBA finals appearance. Malone dominated the middle for Houston.
3. Calvin Murphy- quick was one word to describe Murphy's game. Most of the time he was the smallest player on the court but made up for this with great tenacity.
4. Elvin Hayes- great rebounder and scorer for Rockets. As a rookie in 1971 he averaged 28 points and 17 rebounds.
5. Rudy Tomjanovich- third-leading scorer in team history, was also a great coach for team.
6. Clyde Drexler- came to Houston to win NBA titles and that is what he did. "The Glide" complemented Olaquwan very nicely.
7. Ralph Sampson- never fully materialized as a professional player. Had lots of problems with injuries, but still made four all-star games and was 1985 rookie-of-the-year.
8. Tracy McGrady- big-time scorer struggled with injuries limiting his avability wiht team. When not hurt was amongst the leagues best.
9. Charles Barkley- another guy who came to the Rockets at the end of his career. Tremendous rebounder and scorer when needed.
10. Otis Thorpe- key player who consistently gave the Rockets a double-double.
11. Yao Ming- underachieving player who while on court was a great talent, just staying away from injury was a stretch for him.
12. Robert Horry- clutch performer, won titles with Houston and Los Angeles.
13. Steve Francis- selfish player, was a cancer at times for Houston, could really fill it up though in a hurry.
14. Sam Cassell- key player for the Rockets during their NBA Finals runs. Smart guy, who had a knack of being in the right spot at all times.
15. Kenny Smith- another smart player who didn't do any one thing great, just did it all well. "The Jet" is now a commentator with TNT.
16. Vernon Maxwell- fiery competitor who ran up to stands to battle an unruly fan. Great shooter, who could knock down anything on the court.
17. Robert Reid- above-average player who didn't do anything too well, but did it all good. Lasted ten years with club.
18. Cuttino Mobley- shooter, who could defend and play the ball. Had to retire early because of heart condition.
19.Mike Newlin- key player for Rockets in the 70's. Star on both sides of the court.
20. Dikembe Mutombo- imposing defensive figure wasn't the same player he was with Denver, though he could rebound and block still with Rockets.
