Top 20 Players in Atlanta Hawks History

During the off-season I will look at the top 20 players for each NBA franchise. In alphabetical order, we start with Atlanta.
1. Dominque Wilkens-all-time leading scorer, battled with Michael Jordan as best player in the league during the 80's.
2. Bob Petit- the first winner of the NBA's MVP award.
3. Pete Maravich- pistol Pete instantly became one of the leagues best shooters when the Hawks drafted him.
4. Lou Hudson- sweet Lou was a big time scorer who was said to be ahead of his time.
5. Dikembe Mutumbo-big time shot blocker and rebounder.
6.Lenny Wilkens-played for St. Louis and coached for Atlanta. Could do it all on the court.
7.Connie Hawkins-came to Atlanta late in his career, was huge for a young team.
8.John Drew-struggled with drugs which shortened what was a promising career.
9.Walt Bellamy-came to Atlanta midways through his career. Was big for the Hawks in the 70's.
10.Cliff Hagan- six-time NBA all-star dominated during the 50's.
11. Joe Johnson-the leader for the current Hawks.
12. Eddie Johnson-a key member to the Hawks during the 80's
13.Doc Rivers- current coach of Boston Celtics, acted like a coach while player with Atlanta. Averaged a double-double in 1986 with scoring and assists.
14.Zelmo Beaty-amongst the Hawks leading all-time scorers. Great center
15.Dan Roundfield-three time all-star for the Hawks.
16.Mookie Blaylock- known for his defense and great passing, made the NBA defensive team on two occasions.
17.Josh Smith- another member on the current Hawks. Can move up rankings if he stays at Atlanta, still young.
19.Steve Smith-smooth shooter was traded in his prime to Portland.
20.Kevin Willis-amongst the Hawks leaders in rebounds and games played.
