Top 15 Players in Miami Heat History

August 9th 2011 16:26
Dwayne Wade is Miami's best all-time player
1. Dwayne Wade- best player on the Heat. Took over for them in the NBA Finals versus Dallas. Led team to the title victory in 2006.

2. Shaquille O'Neal- won title with team. Left team not on a good note, but meshed well with Wade.

3. Glen Rice-great shooter brought the Heat to the playoffs for the first time. Three-point shooting was his forte.

4. Alonzo Mourning- brusing center, kept team in the hunt of things for a while.

5. Tim Hardaway- great point guard for Miami. Elusive on the court, quick. Great shooter.

6. Lebron James- another guy who will rise up this list. Maybe the best player in the league right now, vanished at times during the NBA Finals both times he's been there.

7. Udonis Haslem- been on team for years, known to do the dirty work. Great defender and rebounder. Can score at times.

8. Rony Seikaly- the first great Heat player. Solid center was a double-double waiting to happen.

9. Gary Payton- great defender, came over as role player later on in career. Solid shooter, key player on playoff teams.

10. P.J. Brown- great role player for Heat during the 90's. Key component on teams playoff runs.

11. Chris Bosh- one season with team had its highs and lows. Will likely rise up this list as team finally wins title and he begins to play more consistently.

12. Jamal Mashburn- guy could score points. Average on defense, but if needed could score over 30 points.

13. Eddie Jones- classic shooter. Had games when he couldn't miss. Solid on defense, known for shooting touch.

14. James Posey- did all the hard work for Miami. Above average player who gave double-digit points and rebounds plus defense.

15. Lamar Odom- played for team for a couple of seasons before being traded to Lakers. Filled up the stat sheet for team.

Great list, but I think Haslem needs to move down a little and Bosh up a little.

Glen Rice was one of the best pure shooters I have ever seen. And Wade is not only the best Miami Heat player of all-time, he is the best in the game right now. I say this based on what I saw in the last Olympics. Wade was the best player on the team and without him the U.S. would have lost.
