1. Chris Paul- Paul made the Hornets a viable playoff contender the first time he took the floor. He is a threat to gain a triple-double every game. An possible MVP choice how he makes everyone better on the team.
2. Larry Johnson- "Grandma Ma" was a great player for the Hornets. He could do it all on the court. Johnson averaged 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists while with the Hornets. He made the all-star team twice.
3. Alonzo Mourning- One of the best in NBA history as a shot-blocker. Mourning averaged 21 points while with the Hornets. He and Johnson were a solid one-two punch in the early days of the franchise.
4. Glen Rice- made the all-star team three times while with the Hornets. He was the 1997 MVP of the game. Rice has the highest scoring percentage of all hornets with 24 points per game. One of the best shooters you will ever see.
5. Baron Davis- an all-around point guard. Great scorer and can pass the ball well. Davis made two all-star teams with Charlotte and one all-nba team.
6. Dell Curry- above-average player at best who over-achieved. Great shooter and scorer on the Hornets during their early days.
7. David Wesley- another guy who over-achieved while with team. Not a great basketball player though he was as a Hornet. Fiery player who contributed to the team in any way they needed.
8. Muggsy Bogues- while we are on the subject of over-achievers. Bogues standing at 5 ft. 3 in. was the smallest player of all-time in the NBA. He had talent though and was a delight to watch.
9. David West- embroiled in a contract spat with the team. He is Paul's top running mate. Great scorer and rebounder, likely will rise up some numbers if he stays with team.
10. Rex Chapman- great shooter, on the first Hornets team. Kept the team close many times with clutch shooting. Had great range, not much of a defender.
11. Jamal Mashburn- very talented player who could really score. Mashburn came over to Charlotte later on his career when he was searching for a ring. Good veteran for the team.
12. Peja Stojakovic- great stand-up shooter. A liability everywhere else on the court.
13. Derrick Coleman- good scorer and rebounder. Wasn't on team very long.
14. Eddie Jones- short-lived player, one of the top shooters in the league while with the Hornets. Jones was a great shut-down defender.
15. Emeka Okefor- big-man on the team, great defender and rebounder. May jump up this list. Should at least.
