Timberwolves Hire Adelman
September 13th 2011 02:38
The Minnesota Timberwolves and former Houston Rockets Rick Adelman have made a deal. Adelman, is close to Minnesota forward Kevin Love from Oregon.
Love played basketball with Adelman's son, Patrick. Adelman and former Golden State head coach Don Nelson were the finalists for the job which has been vacant since Kurt Rambis was fired in June.
Adelman is the eighth-winningest head coach in NBA history with 945 career wins. Nelson has the most at 1,335 victories.
The former Portland head coach will be a great addition to Minnesota. The Timberwolves have a number of younger players, including Derrick Williams, Ricky Rubio, Love and Luke Ridenour. Needless to say, if we do have a season, I project the Timberwolves to improve upon their 17 wins from last year.
