With no end in sight to the NBA lockout, the league still unvieled their new schedule today. Dallas will face Chicago on the opening night, followed by Oklahoma City taking on Los Angeles Lakers on November 1st. Houston faces Utah in addition on the first.
Most teams begin their season on November 2nd. Kyrie Irving, the top-pick for Cleveland out of Duke takes the court for the first time in the league against Boston on the 2nd. Derrick Williams and Minnesota face Atlanta also on the 2nd. The defending Eastern Conference champions take on New York in their season opener.
On Christmas, the NBA has a triple-header featuring a rematch of the Finals series. Dallas and Miami is sandwiched in between, a New York and Boston game, and Chicago versus Los Angeles Lakers matchup.
Locally, Portland takes on Denver for their season opener. The game is set for November, 3rd and will take place at the Rose Garden. Portland, on assumption the game will happen, will feature new point-guard Raymond Felton who was acquired from Denver. The Nuggets counter with former Blazer Andre Miller who figures to be the backup point-guard to Ty Lawson.
Now with the schedule set, time has come for the league to get down to business! The schedule features great games with alluring storylines, time for the NBA to continue capitalizing on a popular streak.
