The NBA Files Claim Against Players
August 3rd 2011 03:36
The NBA owners struck first in the just over a month long lockout on Tuesday. They filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board and a lawsuit at a federal district court in New York.
The players were accused of coming across as uncooperative in negioations after making threats to dissolve their union and sue the league. The NBPA plans to dismiss this lawsuit as bad business practices from the owners.
It seems both sides are so far apart, that they are now resolving to childish behavior. The owners bit first with these lawsuits, and the players are sure to follow with decertifiying their union.
The owners claim a loss of $300 million while the players and other information signal how the league made profit. Hard to say who is right, other then this another sign of greed in sports.
I will begin following other sports, notably more NFL football talk along with NBA news and team rankings. Classic moments of the NBA will also see some daylight. Kind of frustrating how the two sides are acting towards resolving this work stoppage. Nothing new to report, thus I will cover more variety here.
