The Heat look to hang on in NBA Finals Game 6
June 12th 2011 03:06
Dallas stormed back once again to grab a one-game series lead in the NBA Finals after Thursday's 112-103 victory. The Mavs pulled away in the end to win the game. Miami star Dwayne Wade missed part of the second quarter and third before returning to the game. He is suffering from a thigh contustion. Wade's ability to bounce back is integral to Miami's hopes in game six.
Sir James finished game five with a triple-double, even though he vanished once again in the fourth quarter, only scoring two points. James finished with 17 points, ten rebounds and ten assists. Wade added 23 points, and Chris Bosh scored 19. Miami had a good bench effort with Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem combining for 25 points. Miami shot 53% on the game. The only problem was Dallas shot better.
The Mavericks went for 56% shooting for the game. Five Dallas players were in double figure scoring led by Dirk Nowitzki who totaled 29 points. J.J. Barea was a huge sparkplug after starting for the second straight game. Barea scored 17 points. Jason Terry added 21 more for the Mavs. Shawn Marion scored only eight points, though his defense once again on James was huge.
Key to the Mavericks great start was Wade going down to injury. Without him, Miami struggled holding onto the ball. James before the game said it was going to be his most important game of his career. He failed to deliever down the stretch while Dallas had two guys who took the game over. Terry and Nowitzki came to play with the game on the line. Now the series is on the line. Will James step up now that the series is on the line? I am going for the minor upset here. Dallas needs to win this game. If a game seven on Tuesday happens, then the Heat have this series. Dallas needs another great shooting effort and to keep up their trend of series clinching victories like the previous three series's with Portland, Oklahoma City, and Los Angeles.
