Tampa Bay and St. Louis make coaching changes

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and St. Louis Rams one day after the season ended, fired their head coaches. Steve Spagnulo, had a record of 10-38 at St. Louis for three seasons, and Raheem Morris finished with a 17-31 record over three seasons.
Tampa Bay lost 10 straight games to end the season with a record of 4-12. Last year, the team went 10-6, but due to an influx of great teams in the NFC failed to make the playoffs. This season, a mixture of bad defense and injuries to key members of the team killed them. Quarterback Josh Freeman regressed when he was playing, throwing just 16 touchdowns and 22 interceptions compared to 25 touchdowns and six interceptions last year. The defense gave up 494 points for the season, including giving up 31 or more points eight times during the ten-game losing streak.
St. Louis earned the second pick in the NFL Draft due to very inconsistent play on both sides of the ball. This cost Spagnulo and General Manager Billy Devaney his job. Last season, the Rams had a record of 8-8 and nearly won the NFC West, instead a loss in the season finale gave Seattle the top spot. This season, injuries to key players including quarterback Sam Bradford kept the team from progressing. This season the team went 2-14, including having the leagues worst offense and the NFL's worst defense against the run.
Hard to say if any more head coaches will lose their jobs though anything is possible. Minnesota head coach Leslie Frazier may soon lose his job after a 3-13 record this season, and another one to watch would be Norv Turner at San Diego. The Chargers have amongst the most talented teams in the NFL, yet struggle to put it all together including an 8-8 record this year. Really Long Link width="93" Really Long Link align="CENTER"
