Sunday Oct. 9th NFL Games
October 7th 2011 23:13
Tennessee at Pittsburgh: The Steelers have the help of Ben Roethlisberger thus putting them over the edge in this game. Pittsburgh must not turn the ball over, if they do so, then a victory is theirs. Tennessee is winning at the line with old offensive lineman head coach Mike Munchak installing his way. The Steelers will prevail.
Seattle at NY Giants: Seattle surprisingly enough scored 28 points last week. Think this shows Atlanta is no way as good as they were last year. The Giants roll with Eli Manning and his offense scoring in bunches. The Seahawks have a terrible defense.
Cincinnati at Jacksonville: Here's a tough game to call as both teams on the surface are evenly matched up. Both teams start a rookie quarterback, Andy Dalton having started every game this season is more experienced of the two, over Blaine Gabbert who has started just a couple. Maurice Jones-Drew needs to step up more for the Jaguars, he has yet to have a standout game. The Bengals win here by a close margin.
New Orleans at Carolina: The Saints are putting up great numbers as an offense, so are the Panthers. Expect lots of scoring in this game, with the Saints and Drew Brees getting the better of the Panthers. Cam Newton is having a great rookie season thus far, don't see this ending against the Saints.
Oakland at Houston: Strength versus strength here. Funny to say, the Texans know have a strong defense, having won last week's game due to them slowing the Steelers. Darren McFadden is having a great season on the ground for the Raiders. The Texans are the more complete team now, winning again.
Philadelphia at Buffalo: Another tough game to call, as it is hard to say what Eagles team will show up. Buffalo is coming off a tough loss last week as are the Eagles, both teams lost in the final moments of their games. I see this one going down to the wire with the Eagles prevailing and finally getting on a winning streak.
Kansas City at Indianapolis: Before the season started this game on paper would of been the best of the week, though now we are faced with a dud game. The Chiefs have one win, the Colts of course are winless. Yet Indianapolis has given Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay all they could handle the last two weeks. I see the Colts winning here and adding to the Chiefs dismay.
Arizona at Minnesota: Dud game number two, another one with a team looking for a win while the other has just one victory. The Vikings will go into the locker room with a big lead, and they will hang onto it this time, finally getting a win. Arizona is struggling mightily with Kevin Kolb as the quarterback. Give him time though, as he will come around.
Tampa Bay at San Francisco: One of the best games of the week, each team coming in with a 3-1 mark. Look for a low-scoring drag it out affair with the 49ers coming out on top as Frank Gore once again leads the way. Josh Freeman will throw at least two interceptions in the defeat.
NY Jets at New England: The Jets are struggling mightily on offense. Hard to say what exactly the problem is other then Mark Sanchez throwing the ball to the opposing team too many times. Turnovers are killing the Jets. Tom Brady is the MVP of the league thus far, him and the Patriots win here.
San Diego at Denver: Philip Rivers is not having the same type of year he is accustomed to enjoying. Only five touchdown passes in four games? Even still the Chargers are sixth in the league in passing. Denver will give up points, lots of them. Look for the Chargers to win going away.
Atlanta at Green Bay: A rematch of last years divisional playoff game that saw the Packers beat Atlanta with ease. The Packers traveled to Atlanta then, now they host the Falcons. Different venue, same outcome as the Packers win again. Atlanta needs help on defense and protecting Matt Ryan who is getting a beating out there.
Chicago at Detroit: Detroit is hosting a Monday night game! Something different for the franchise, and they enter the game on a winning streak, four games so far. Matt Stafford is having a great year, as is Calvin Johnson for the offense, and the Lions defense got their comeback started last week. Chicago enjoyed a White House trip today with the 1985 team who won the Super Bowl. No White House trips in the near future for this club, at least for next season as they have yet to find a common winning way. Matt Forte went over 200 yards last week, here against the Lions he will reach 120 yards or less forcing Jay Cutler to win the game. Cutler can do this, but not against this Lions squad right now. Detroit wins.
