The title of this post was the words from Portland Trailblazers radio announcer Brian Wheeler after the blazers cut the mavericks lead to 11 points in the fourth quarter. Portland fell behind by 23 points in the third quarter of Saturday's game with Dallas. Instead of not giving up, the Blazers riding Brandon Roy, erupted for a 40-15 run en route to a 84-82 win over Dallas. The win tied the series up at two games apiece with game five on Monday night in Dallas. Roy scored 18 points in the fourth quarter and 24 for the game, as it was vintage Brandon Roy.
At halftime, Portland was only down by two points in a very low scoring contest, with the score at 37-35. At the 2:29 mark of the third quarter, the scoreboard read, 64-41 in favor of Dallas. Even at the 0:59 mark, the lead remained at 23 points. Then something changed.
LaMarcus Aldridge hit a jumper, and Roy canned a trey, cutting the lead to 18 heading into the fourth. At the 8:26 mark, the lead was trimmed to 11 after another Roy basket. Then with 2:31, Dallas still had a six-point lead by Portland was threatening after a Roy layup. Then one minute later, Roy drained a three, and got fouled. After connecting on the free throw, Portland tied the game up at 82. After a Jason Terry miss, Portland got the rebound. Then after a timeout, Roy again got the call, he avoided a Shawn Marion block in canning a jumper giving Portland the lead. Jason Kidd, and Terry both got looks at winning the game in the final seconds, Portland got the win, tying for second best comeback win in playoff history.
Indiana held off a furious Chicago rally in the final moments of game one on the day, to earn a win, 89-84. Derrick Rose suffered a sprained ankle in the first quarter. He returned however right away in helping the Bulls out in the game. Danny Granger scored 24 points for the Pacers in the win. Joakim Noah finished with 21 and 14 boards for the Bulls. Finally, Indiana got over the hump.
Memphis is up by nine points in the third quarter against San Antonio in game three of that series. Looking like the Grizzlies have a great shot at once again grabbing a commanding lead in the series. Denver and Oklahoma City are set for a game later which promises to be can't miss. The Nuggets need the win.
