Shaquille O'Neal is done

The man of many names has decided to call it quits on a 19-year NBA career. Shaquille O'Neal announced via Twitter on Wednesday he will retire from the league. The NBA never met anyone quite like the center. He could do it all for a team, well except shoot free throws, though he did get better later in his career, and on the side he could even act. The 7 ft. 1 in. and 325-pound center is retired. He finished fifth in NBA History on the career points list.
O'Neal played high school basketball in San Antonio, Texas, where he led Robert G. Cole to a 68-1 record in his final two seasons there. Shaq then played basketball in college at Louisiana State University under the tutelage of Dale Brown. O'Neal was a two-time All-American, and was named the player of the year nationally in 1991. He left school after two years, though came back and graduated in 2000.
The Orlando Magic drafted Shaq with the 1st pick in 1992. He dominated the league right from the beginning. O'Neal averaged 24 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks per game as a rookie. He was a shoo-in for the team which improved immensely from the previous season. O'Neal improved his scoring average to 29 points in his second season. The Magic continued their climb this time to winning 50 games and making the playoffs. Orlando in O'Neal's third season finally reached the NBA Finals only to be swept to Houston after the big man led the league in scoring with 29 points per game. Shaq after one more season with Orlando became a free agent. Los Angeles Lakers signed him to a multi-million dollar deal. Immediately, the star power came as he hit California.
Injuries and the Utah Jazz kept O'Neal from making the NBA Finals his first two seasons with the Lakers. Then in 2000 with Phil Jackson as the coach, the Lakers won the first of three straight titles. After an injury shortened season, O'Neal was dealt to Miami. The big man teamed up with Dwayne Wade in 2006 to win the title over Dallas, his fourth championship. More injuries mounted afterwards keeping the Heat from mounting a threat at repeating. He was dealt to Phoenix where he played for two seasons. O'Neal then played with Lebron James in Cleveland for one season before signing with Boston. The big man after struggling with injuries for most of this season decided to retire at the age of 39.
Wherever the "Big Aristotle" goes now is up for debate. He has rapped early on in his career with Fu Schnickens. Came out with a music album titled, "Shaq Diesel." Shaq was in Blue Chips, Kazaam and numerous other small acting roles. Heck he was even a reserve officer for Miami Beach and Los Angeles Port Police. Wherever he goes, this is not the last you have heard of Shaq.
