Saturday's game threes in the playoffs
May 7th 2011 00:11
After Friday's action, things continue to heat up on Saturday with games shifting to Memphis, and Boston. The Celtics will welcome the aide of Shaquille O'Neal who is expected to make a return to action. Who knows how much he will help the Celtics who look tired and old. Miami is taking advantage of them. Memphis and Oklahoma City have the classic look of a seven game series with each team winning one thus far. Memphis is unbeaten at home in the playoffs, with winning three times against the Spurs. Oklahoma City was unbeaten before game one's loss to the Grizzlies.
Question: where the New York Knicks really that bad? Answer: probably if this series with Miami means anything as Boston doesn't appear to be the same team. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have been both non-existent in this series. Rajon Rondo with a little Kevin Garnett is Boston's attack. Jeff Green had a nice game off the bench in game two but other Celtics need to step up and help. It starts with Pierce and Allen.
The Heat are 6-1 in the playoffs and minus the final two minutes of game four versus the 76ers been the best team of all in the playoffs. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade are the best one-two punch in the league and it is finally showing on the court. Getting anything out of Chris Bosh makes things that much easier for the Heat. Bosh had a decent game two with 17 points and 11 boards after a terrible outing in game one. Boston welcomes the addition of the "Big Aristotle" and get a win to cut Miami's advantage by one.
Yes the Thunder are more then a two man team as James Harden had one of his best games of the season with 21 points in game two. Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins shut down Memphis's vaunted inside attack of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. The two shot a combined 5-22 in game two. If more of this continues, the Grizzlies have no shot.
Mike Conley stepped up and had a great game two while the normal scorers were slowed by the Thunder's defense. The former Buckeye scored 24 points on 10-15 shooting. O.J. Mayo had a good game off the bench with scoring 16 points. If either Randolph or Gasol played up to the caliber they were playing then Memphis would of won again. Things change here in game three as Memphis rebounds with a win, once again taking the series lead.
