Road teams win game one now for game two

May 4th 2011 02:59
Nice to see three of the four road teams win their opening game of conference semifinal round. The lone home team to rule their court was Miami, who just beat Boston for a second straight time or third if you count the regular season, and grabbing a two games to none advantage. Memphis is stuck in a battle with Oklahoma City right now in game two of that series. The Lakers were surprised by Dallas in game one, while the Bulls didn't come out strong and lost to Atlanta. Hopefully the home teams can recover before its too late.

Derrick Rose was named MVP on Tuesday of the NBA. He had what appeared to be a big injury on his knee, only know everything is okay after he limped off the court of game one. Rose is the main facilator of this Chicago attack. Without him playing the Bulls have no chance. Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer both need to have bigger games in game two to assist Rose.

The Atlanta shooters continue to knock down everything in sight and prove doubters wrong. I am one of these doubters of this Hawks team, yet they continue to find ways to win. Jeff Teague played 45 minutes of game one due to the Hawks missing Kirk Hinrich. He barely played versus Orlando and he played this much here. Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford both combined for 45 points as the Hawks shot over 50% from the field. Rose and the Bulls find a way to win here in game two though Atlanta proved they are for real, yet again.

I am not a fan of Dallas, yet they continue to find ways to win. Dirk Nowitski put the Mavericks on his back and enabled their comeback win in game one. Nowitski scored 11 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter. Kobe Bryant scored 21 of his 36 points in the second half, and had a great look at the last second shot, yet it was too hard. Bryant has done this last second shot thing quite a few times alas this was unusual for the shot not to connect. The Lakers lost game one to New Orleans and rebounded in game two. Dallas is quite a better team then New Orleans.

The Lakers will rebound in game two and tie this series up, with game three being on Saturday in Dallas. No games for Thursday in the playoffs as teams change locations.
Jeff Teague had a great game on Monday. Can he continue this for the Hawks?

The key to the Hawks' win was Jeff Teague. He's a really good defensive player who "rose" to the occasion and held down Derrick Rose. I'm not worried about the Lakers because they were playing better basketball than the Mavs. It's just that Pau Gasol made two incredibly stupid mistakes. The Heat are better than the C's, especially because they have no answer for Dwayne Wade. Boston relies too much on Rondo these days too.

The Hawks had a great game one. They shot 51% from the field in game one. I think the Bulls will bounce back and win this series.
