Ravens Win Classic Defensive Battle

The Baltimore Ravens beat San Francisco 49ers, 16-6 in a game which featured nine sacks on the visitors team. Alex Smith was under constant pressure and went down to an record number of sacks.
A pass from Joe Flacco to Dennis Pitta as the fourth quarter began was the games lone touchdown. Baltimore went on a 16 play, 76-yard drive which broke a 6-6 tie up. The game was great for those who love great defense. Flacco and Smith both struggled to get 150 yards of passing yards. Ray Rice and Frank Gore, both great running backs were held in check. Rice had 59 yards on 21 carries and Gore amassed 39 yards with just 14 carries. A 75-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Ted Ginn Jr. was taken back due to a chop block back in the second quarter. This was a definite momentum changer, pushing the Ravens in charge.
In other action, Detroit fell apart in a loss to Green Bay, and Dallas knocked off a pesky Miami team by one-point on a last second field goal from Dan Bailey. Detroit lost 27-15 to the Packers. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had issues getting the ball to the Lions blue jersey and instead found Packers white jerseys three times. The Lions had issues once running back Kevin Smith went down to an injury in the first quarter. Losing Smith was too much for the team to win. Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers 22-33 for 307 yards on the day.
Dallas beat a suddenly tough Miami Dolphins squad, 20-19 for their fourth-straight win. The Cowboys are now 7-4 on the season and sitting on top of the NFC East division. The Giants are just a half-game behind. Tony Romo struggled for the bulk of the game, but got enough going in the end, leading the Cowboys to the win. Romo had two touchdowns and two interceptions. Matt Moore had an another great game, passing for 288 yards and one touchdown. What killed the Dolphins was their inability to punch in the turnovers for touchdowns, instead settling for four-field goals from Shayne Graham. The Cowboys are now looking like a team to be reckoned with.
