Rambis out at Minnesota
June 23rd 2011 04:15
According to Yahoo and other reports, Minnesota is firing Head Coach Kurt Rambis. Though the deal is not yet finalized. If Rambis does get yanked, it would seem odd they would do it before the draft tomorrow. Official notice of the firing is not expected until Friday due to this.
Rambis in two seasons at Minnesota compiled a record of 32-132. He has two seasons left on a contract with the team. Lorenzo Romar, current head coach at Washington is a leading candidate as is former Minnesota Timberwolve, Sam Mitchell.
Minnesota is nuts for thinking Rambis could turn around this mess. He should of been given at least one more year. Sure they fell apart at the end of last season, and earned the leagues worst record but Rambis deserves one more year. Add Derrick Williams, Rickey Rubio to the leagues worst team, and a few more wins will come your way.
Rambis played 15 seasons in the NBA after being drafted by the New York Knicks with the 58th pick in 1980. Rambis won the NBA title with the LA Lakers in 1982, 1985, 1987, and 1988. He also played for Charlotte, Phoenix and Sacramento.
