Preview of Game one of the NBA Finals
May 30th 2011 16:30
Finally after four days of rest we get to watch game one of the NBA Finals. The players were given an extra day of rest on Memorial Day. Now if the series goes the distance, game seven will be played on June, 14th. Time for the NBA Finals rematch from 2006 to begin.
I am surprised the Heat have made this far with such a weak bench. Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller each had games in the Eastern Conference Finals series where they stepped up. Sure getting Haslem back is huge for the bench but they are still very weak. Dallas has one of the deepest benches in the league in comparsion led by Jason Terry, J.J. Barea, Brendan Haywood, and Peja Stojakovic. Just think if the team had Caron Butler available then starter Shawn Marion would be coming off the bench. But Butler is injured and unlikely to return.
Having three great players is all you need to win in the league if each guy is playing up to their standard. Chris Bosh after a subpar season for the most part is having a good post-season. The former Toronto Raptor is attempting to erase all those doubtors who made his life miserable during the season. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade are right at the top of the league in scoring and overall talent individually. Each player can at any given night lead the Heat in scoring.
Dallas has a slew of players who could step up and lead the team. Dirk Nowitzki has been unstoppable during the playoffs. He is easily playing the best basketball of his 12-year career. Jason Terry, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea, Peja Stojakovic, even Jason Kidd can lead the Mavericks in any given game. Dallas has many more options then Miami does, but the Heat continue to find ways to win.
Game one tomorrow night, we will find out which one of these teams is up for the challenge. Miami has the homecourt advantage for the finals. This years playoffs has been very unpredictable as any team can win. Miami takes game one led by Wade, not James in the final moments. Nowitzki is held to 30 points in the loss.
