Pivotal game three in the West in Oklahoma City
May 20th 2011 23:31
The Thunder managed to get what they wanted and that was a split in Dallas. Now the series moves to Oklahoma City. A big game three is set for tomorrow night, in which the victor grabs control of the series. The first two games have been full of scoring and energy, nothing changes this everyone will be treated to a offensive treat.
Jason Terry, J.J. Barea, and Peja Stojakovic have played key roles in Dallas's seven game winning streak here in the playoffs. These three combined for 29 points in game two, well below what they had been producing. Tyson Chandler tried to help Dirk Nowitzki out with the scoring load, but he isn't a scorer, making the need for Terry and others to step up even more.
You can say that Kevin Durant's dunk over the outstretched arm of Brendan Haywood was the moment the game began to change after Dallas jumped to an early 11-point lead. I don't agree as the game in fact changed to better for Oklahoma City when James Harden "the beard" got hot from behind the three-point line. The guard from Arizona State connected on the first of four three-pointers in the waning moments of the second quarter as the Thunder tied the score up at 52. Dallas had no answer for someone on the opposing team who was actually hitting a three-pointer. Happened to them versus Portland when Brandon Roy caught fire in game four of the first round series, but hasn't since.
So that's how you can beat Dallas, out-shoot them. Hard to do with the stockpile of shooters the Mavericks employ, but it is possible. Dallas will work hard at reparing these defincies Oklahoma City found in their defense here in game two. Going with the Thunder to grab another win here in game three. Expect the unexpected though, get ready for a great game!
