Philbin in at Miami

The Miami Dolphins have hired Green Bay offensive coordinator Joe Philbin as their new head coach. Philbin has never been a head coach and has been at Green Bay since 2003, and as the offensive coordinator since 2003.
Green Bay head coach Greg McCarthy called all the offensive plays but Philbin constructed them. The new Dolphins head coach has 28 years of coaching experience, 19 of them in college. Before joining the Packers, Philbin was the offensive line coach at Iowa. Previously he had stints at Harvard, Northeastern and Allegehany College as offensive coordinator.
Right before last week's divisional playoff loss to the NY Giants, tragedy struck Philbin and his family when one of his six kids bodies was found in a icy river in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Philbin beat out fellow contenders, Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and the Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles for the position.
