Oklahoma City vs Los Angeles preview
February 25th 2011 23:23
What a whirlwind day Thursday was for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dealing Jeff Green was a huge move as he is one of the three corner-stones of the franchise. New centers Kendrick Perkins and Nazr Mohammed, will help the Thunder match up better with the Los Angeles Lakers now. After playing the Lakers, in last years playoffs, and taking them to six games, this Thunder team can make it past the first round. The Thunder are 36-20 on the year, they match up with Orlando on Friday night. Los Angeles lucked out on Wednesday as the Blazers handed them the game. After hosting the Clippers on Friday night they travel to Oklahoma City.
Los Angeles despite trade-rumors decided to keep the current roster intact for another playoff-run. Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol still lead the way for this team. Ron Artest had a great game, Wednesday night and if it wasn't for him, the Lakers would of lost. Artest scored 24 points for the Lakers, displaying how streaky he can be. The fiery forward couldn't miss from 3-point land going 5-6. Bryant scored 37 points, but without Artest, Portland would of won.
Oklahoma City may struggle versus Orlando after dealing Green, but hopefully they will be ready for the Lakers. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook now will have to work their magic on Perkins, and try to make him a more complete player. Perkins has had issues with injuries this year, but is putting up the best numbers of his career with seven-points and eight-rebounds per game.
The Lakers won the earlier meeting on January, 17th, 101-94. This time around look for a different outcome. The Thunder win a tight game with Durant out-dueling Bryant.
