NFL Week 13 Picks
December 3rd 2011 00:14
Carolina at Tampa Bay: Two struggling teams set to face off. Tampa Bay has lost six out of seven, and Carolina has just three wins on the year with eight losses. Josh Freeman instead of improving this year, has regressed as the Buccaneer quarterback and their defense is dreadful. Carolina has shown signs of improvement with Cam Newton. I like the Buccaneers in a high scoring affair here.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh: A key AFC North Division matchup here. Pittsburgh won the earlier game between this two division rivals, by the slimmest of margins. I believe this game will again, go down to the wire with the Steelers winning by three.
Atlanta at Houston: TJ Yates gets his first start for Houston here. Yates has lots of talent, coming out of North Carolina. Atlanta has a weak passing defense, so Houston and Yates will score. Atlanta though with Matt Ryan should have just enough points to win, as the Texans get used to using the rookie quarterback.
NY Jets at Washington: Here's a tough one to call. Both teams employ such inconsistent quarterbacks, you never know what you are going to get. I like the Jets to win as they are in the playoff chase still. Rex Grossman will find a way to help out the Jets cause.
Indianapolis at New England: The Patriots enter this game as 21-point favorites. They should win by at least that much. Tom Brady and New England are hitting on all strides right now, and the Colts aren't. Dan Orlovsky will make the start for the Colts, replacing Matt Painter. Don't see this making much of a difference.
Oakland at Miami: This game should go down to the wire. Carson Palmer has the Raiders offense playing well right now, and Matt Moore has been on a tear during the Dolphins last four games, three of them victories. I like the Dolphins to win by the slimmest of margins.
Denver at Minnesota: Minnesota has a good defensive line lead by Jared Allen, he should be able to slow down Denver quarterback Tim Tebow, a tad. But the Bronco's defense is also playing good. Tebow and the team are finding ways to win. Denver wins again.
Tennessee at Buffalo: Two teams going in opposite directions. The Titans have a great shot at catching up to Houston in their division while Buffalo is fading fast. The Bills played better last week versus the Jets, but couldn't win. Chris Johnson had a great game for the Titans versus the weak Buccaneer defense. Buffalo doesn't have that much better of a defense though. Titans win.
Kansas City at Chicago: Kyle Orton will get to play in this one for the Chiefs as Tyler Palko, sooner then later will get pulled. Chicago with Caleb Hanie under center have a need for a quarterback as well, to stay in the playoff hunt. Maybe Donovan McNabb? The Bears will find a way to win.
Baltimore at Cleveland: The problem with this game is the Ravens they tend to play down to their competition. Losses to Seattle and Jacksonville are evident of this. Cleveland is bad. So, look for a close game here, but the Ravens will pull it out.
Dallas at Arizona: The Cowboys are suddenly running away with the NFC East division as the Eagles and Giants begin to fade. Tony Romo will have a great game against the weak Cardinal defense in a win.
NY Giants at Green Bay: Can the Giants beat the Packers and end their winning streak at 11 games? Nope. New York has done this before, stopping the New England Patriots from finishing the season unbeaten in the Super Bowl. This Giants squad is too weak though on defense. Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers will run wild in the win.
St. Louis at San Francisco: The 49ers win with ease, taking their 10th game on the season and winning the NFC West division.
Detroit at New Orleans: This is the game of the week? Not much to choose from, maybe Cincinnati and Pittsburgh? Look for lots of points as both teams have great offenses, well one team is slightly better here. The New Orleans Saints with Drew Brees have it all on the offensive side, the ability to run whenever they want or pass. Detroit won't be able to stop it. The Saints roll.
San Diego at Jacksonville: One team fired their coach, and the other is soon to follow. Norv Turner at San Diego, you have to believe will get canned soon. While Jack Del Rio was shown the door at Jacksonville. The Jaguars will struggle with the changes here, as San Diego gets a rare win after six straight losses.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh: A key AFC North Division matchup here. Pittsburgh won the earlier game between this two division rivals, by the slimmest of margins. I believe this game will again, go down to the wire with the Steelers winning by three.
