NFL: The League of Parity
October 5th 2010 03:28
Another week goes by without a true dominant team this season. Now we are only in the fourth week, but this year, more so then previous campaigns has no real head and shoulders above others team. Kansas City of all teams is the lone unbeaten, thanks in part to having week four off, at 3-0 on the year. After the Chicago Bears looked to be a team of destiny in knocking off the Green Bay Packers last Monday, they were brought back down to Earth, Sunday night versus the New York Giants. Usi Umenyiora lead the Giants charge, in knocking two Bears quarterbacks out of the game, and totaling 9 first half sacks. Jay Cutler was lost to an concussion, and Todd Collins to a neck stinger. Both are probable for next Sundays game.
Even the league's worst teams, Detriot Lions, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, and San Fransico 49ers, all 0-4, are not losing by that much. Detriot fell to Green Bay, by two points, 28-26, Carolina lost 16-14 to the Super Bowl Champions, New Orleans Saints, and 49ers fell 16 to 13 versus Atlanta.
As the season progresses this will come to an end, we will have our playoff teams and our terrible, four or less win teams. But for right now, the league is full of teams who can win any given Sunday.
