NFL Awards Week 8
November 1st 2011 16:00
Offensive Player of the Week: Ben Roethlisberger's 365 yards in the Pittsburgh Steelers win over New England through the air. Roethlisberger finally got the better of the Patriots and Tom Brady.
Defensive Player of the Week: Justin Long of St. Louis Rams. Long dominated the New Orleans Saints offensive line in getting three sacks of Drew Brees in the Rams first win of the year.
Best win of Week: Kansas City topping San Diego in a game it looked like many times throughout the Chargers were going to take charge, yet turnovers or some miscue kept it from happening. The Chiefs are tied with San Diego now after starting the year 0-3 at 4-3.
Worst Loss of Week: It doesn't get any worse then New Orleans losing to St. Louis 31-21. The Saints were outplayed on both sides of the ball and no chance against a previously win-less team. Doesn't make sense.
Undefeated Team: Green Bay travels to San Diego in one of the better games of next week.
Win-less teams: Indianapolis at 0-8 hosts Atlanta and Miami is 0-7. The Dolphins travel to Kansas City.
Look ahead to next week: A plethora of good games next week in addition to Green Bay at San Diego. Tampa Bay travels to New Orleans, and the NY Jets face Buffalo. Plus, the NY Giants travel to New England, and Pittsburgh hosts Baltimore. Then to top it off Philadelphia hosts Chicago in the Monday nighter.
