New look PAC-10 conference next year
October 13th 2010 01:47
With the addition of Colorado and Utah next season, the PAC-10 now jumps to 12 teams in the conference. Because of this PAC-10 commisioner Larry Scott wants to turn the division into a North-South format.
The North side will feature Cal, Stanford, Washington, Washington State, Oregon, and Oregon State. South has the two new entrants, with Arizona, Arizona State, USC, and UCLA. Teams will still have nine conference games and will be on a round robin style format, as to be able to play each team in consectutive seasons, and rivalries will stay intact. Teams from California still could face off against one another in the title game, but this version is the best for everyone.
I like the separate divisions idea, and feel this will keep the PAC-10 competitive and amongst the best divisions in college sports. Can't wait for an PAC-10 title game to compete with the so-called strongest division, the SEC.
