Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has agreed to a new 6 year deal with the team for $100 million dollars. $40 million of this contract is guaranteed.
Big contracts are nothing new to Vick, he once had a $130 million dollar contract with the Atlanta Falcons. He was designated the franchise player before the lockout began. This pays him $16 million for the current season.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson was sentenced to 20 days in jail after reaching a deal involving two misdemeanor assaults. Benson will surrender to authorities on October 17th, the Monday of the Bengals bye week during the season. Last season, Benson ran for 1,111 yards for the Bengals. He revived a lagging career once the Bengals took a chance on him back in 2008.
Peyton Manning was activated by the Indianapolis Colts on Monday morning. He will practice at first on limited basis. The Colts open the season against Houston on September, 11th. Manning has started 227 straight games, the second-longest streak in history for quarterbacks.
