Best win of the week: Minnesota's 105-90 win over Dallas. The Timberwolves are beginning to turn things around. I have been praising the team for the direction they are headed and good things continue to come. Minnesota was in control throughout over the defending NBA champions as they easily beat Dallas. Kevin Love led the way with 35 points.
The Mavericks were missing Dirk Nowitzki though.
Worst Loss: Orlando's two losses versus Boston. The Magic lost 87-56 to Boston on Monday night, then turned around and lost last night after holding a 27-point lead in the second quarter of the game to the Celtics. Boston held the Magic to just 25 second half points, eight of these came in the fourth quarter in the teams 93-83 win.
Top player performance: LaMarcus Aldridge's 33 points and 23 rebound performance against Toronto last Friday. Aldridge had an easy double-double by halftime and he continued dominating the weak Raptors defenders in the Blazers ten-point victory.
A look at the leagues best and worst teams: Chicago and Oklahoma City have the top records in the NBA. Chicago is best in the Eastern Conference with a 16-4 mark, and Oklahoma City reins in the West at 15-3. New Orleans and Charlotte have the worst records. The Bobcats are 3-16 and New Orleans is 3-15 right now. Washington is also at 3-15.
Look ahead to next week: Sunday brings us a battle for the Eastern Conference as Miami is facing Chicago in a possible preview of the conference finals later on in the season. On Wednesday the same Bulls travel to play at Philadelphia in a game of two division leaders in the East. We will get to see how good this 76ers team is as they host Miami next Friday.
