NBA Preview: Atlantic Division
December 22nd 2011 01:29
Predicted order of finish for the Eastern Conference, followed by the Atlantic Divison.
1. Miami
2. Chicago
3. NY Knicks
4. Boston
5. Orlando
6. Indiana
7. Atlanta
8. Philadelphia
NY Knicks: Adding Tyston Chandler makes this team even better. Baron Davis and Mike Bibby were signed to battle Toney Douglas for the point guard spot. Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony should continue to improve as one of the leagues most potent duo’s.
Boston: Everyone is a year older, and in this quickened season doesn’t make things easier for Boston. Losing Jeff Green and Glen Davis makes the depth for the frontcourt even more scarce. Rajon Rondo will take this team wherever they may go. The Christmas day opener versus New York, will be entertaining.
Philadelphia: Everyone returns from a team which made the playoffs last year. Elton Brand, Jrue Holliday, and Andre Iguodala remain as the team’s core. If Evan Turner can continue to improve then Philadelphia could surprise.
NJ Nets: A weak starting five opposite Deron Williams and Brook Lopez makes for a long season if you are a Net fan. Signing Shelden Williams, a guy who hardly played for Boston last year, and he instantly becomes the starting power forward is evidence of this.
Toronto: DeMar DeRoazan and Andrea Bargnani are the two main guys in Toronto. DeRoazan will be asked to score over 20 points for the Raptors to stand a chance. James Johnson, the starting small forward has the potential to be something special in this league.
