NBA Players ready to move on

August 10th 2011 23:01
Carlos Boozer is the latest NBA player to voice how he wants to play overseas
The list of NBA players who are willing to play overseas continues to add up with each day. Today, the new guys putting their name out there include Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant. These guys are added to the players already interested or signed that include Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwayne Wade from the Miami Heat, Deron Williams of the Nets and many others. Even Ron Artest or Metta World Peace, whatever his name is, has grabbed attention.

Boozer is interested in China. He was part of the Team USA who won Olympic Gold in Beijing and loved the experience so much he wants more. Durant is talking with the Turkish basketball team who was interested in Bryant and already signed Williams, Besikitas. Durant is also looking at playing in Russia or Spain. Jamal Crawford of the Atlanta Hawks is also grabbing some attention from teams in Turkey.

Wade says he will play basketball this year, whether in the NBA or not this remains to be seen. He feels the league will start on time, one of the few who do, but is willing to be play elsewhere. Wade was linked to China, but he denied rumors of this.

Artest/ World Peace is expected to meet with English league basketball team the Chesire Jets later this month about playing for them during the lockout.

All of these players will have to return to the NBA once a deal is set per FIBA rules.

Metta World Peace, nice. But yeah, the "exodus" that was projected to happen hasn't quite happened. I think these players will move if the lockout cuts into enough of the season. It really depends on the patience of the player. I don't know how many of these players can go to teams in Europe- China's off-limits- and I really hope Stern can get his head together.
