NBA Players have until Wednesday or else
November 6th 2011 17:35
David Stern and the league owners offered the players association a 51-49 deal for sharing the revenue, only the players turned this down. Stern gave the players until Wednesday to rethink this or risk no deal better then 47% of the revenue.
According to the players attorney, Jeffery Kessler the deal was no higher then 50.2% and any chance of getting to 51% is an illusion. The two sides remain very far apart in what was the 128th day of being in a lockout.
Federal mediator George Cohen met with the two sides for eight more hours on Saturday, though it is hard to say if they are making any progress.
A group of 130 players are working on decertifying as a union, adding even more of a crimp to the two sides hopes of making a deal fast. Things are not looking very rosy in this situation.
Once again we are left with more questions then answers as the Wednesday deadline looms, and is almost certainly to pass with no deal in place, I again wonder who is at fault here. The players or the owners? Got to side with the players as the owners continue to fail as deal makers.
