NBA Nixes Chris Paul to Lakers trade
December 9th 2011 04:06
The NBA who owns the New Orleans Hornets have killed a trade which would of sent Chris Paul from the team to Los Angeles. The Lakers were sent to trade Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol as part of the trade.
Houston was the third team involved in the deal. The Rockets were going to deal Goran Dragic, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and a 2012 first round pick just to get Gasol, who would of been sent from the Hornets.
Some owners around the league, began crying foul over this proposed trade, prompting NBA commissioner David Stern to stop it from happening. Getting Paul on the Lakers would have been what the league is trying not to let happen again. Teams stacking star players, like the Miami Heat did last season, Stern and others have vowed to fight.
Now free agency and training camp will begin on tomorrow. Get ready for a flurry of deals in a short period of time. Games begin soon as each team will have at least two preseason games before Christmas day.
