NBA News, 5/13 Rivers agrees to new extension with Celtics

Rivers to stay after all: Doc Rivers, who was rumored to wanting to spend time with his family and call it quits, has agreed to sign a new deal with Boston. The Boston coach will be paid $35 million over the duration of the contract. Boston after losing their series to Miami in five games is almost certainly heading down a road of rebuilding. Rivers will be overlooking this process with general manager Danny Ainge.Rivers has a record of 336-228 with Boston in seven seasons. The Celtics are 46-34 in the playoffs with Rivers and the big three playing, including two NBA finals appearances. Boston won the title in 2008.
Dunleavy back to the Lakers?: It seems the LA Lakers have former coach Mike Dunleavy on their short list of canidates. Rick Adelman, and current assistant Brian Shaw are also top canidates for the job. Dunleavy coached the Lakers after Pat Riley left in 1989 for a couple of seasons, including a NBA finals run in 1991. Dunleavy has a career record of 613-716 with the Lakers, Milwaukee, Portland, and the LA Clippers.
Cleveland secret charm?: Cleveland Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is sending his 14-year old son to the NBA lottery this weekend. Nick Gilbert was born with Neurofibromatosis, a nerve disorder which causes tumors to grow all over his body. The draft lottery takes place during the halftime of next Tuesday's conference final game.
Sunday games will be previewed here tomorrow. Game seven of the Western Conference semifinals with Oklahoma City hosting Memphis, and game one of the Eastern Conference finals. Chicago is hosting Miami, and Las Vegas is picking the Heat to win.
