NBA Makes a Deal?
November 26th 2011 16:50
The NBA lockout is over? Waking up to this news caught me with a gasp, as I didn't think we were getting anything this year. But it appears, the owners and players have reached an agreement, ending this 149-day lockout. As of right now, there is no in-depth framework out about the actual deal.
Christmas Day will be the first day back with a triple-header featuring Boston at New York and Miami at Dallas.
There is still obstacles to pass, but the league is wishing on a 66-game season and training camps to start on December 9th. A 15-hour meeting on Friday worked wonders it seems. We need a majority vote from the owners, meaning 15 of 29 voters need to say yes. The NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets. They are expected to go for it.
Though once the deal hits the players union then things will get more difficult as they have an antitrust lawsuit in place. Lets hope it turns out well.
