NBA Draft: Trades
June 24th 2011 23:50
Here's the complete list of trades which happened yesterday during the NBA Draft.
Three team trade:
Charlotte: Bismack Biyombo, Corey Maggette.
Sacramento: Jimmer Freddette, John Salmons
Milwaukee: Tobias Harris, Beno Udrih, Stephen Jackson, and Randy Livingston.
The Bucks are the clear winner here by getting Jackson, and Harris. Sacramento got the guy they wanted three picks later then they were originally slated to pick, and received John Salmons. Charlotte has a huge question mark with Biyombo. Sure they needed help up front, but nobody knows what to expect of this big man from Congo. He could be a huge bust.
Two team trade:
San Antonio: Kawhi Leonard, Davis Bertrans, Erazem Lorbek.
Indiana: George Hill
I like this trade for San Antonio. Now they need to get rid of Richard Jefferson, though this may be tough as he has three years and $30 million left on his contract. Leonard and Bertrans will be solid professional players for the years to come. Hill will battle with Darren Collison in Indiana for playing time, maybe have two point guard sets.
Three team trade:
Minnesota: Brad Miller, Norris Cole, Malcom Lee
Houston: Donatas Montiejunas, Jonny Flynn, Future first round pick, Chandler Parsons
Chicago: Nicola Mirotic
Confusing trade for Minnesota as they moved players left and right here. Lee will fight for playing time and push Martell Webster for his starting role. Chicago added a solid player in Mirotic. Houston adds key depth with Montiejunas, Flynn and Parsons. I like the deal for Houston, and Chicago.
Two team trade:
New Jersey: Marshon Brooks
Boston: JaJuan Johnson, 2014 2nd round pick.
Good deal for Boston, as they team Johnson up with fellow Purdue Boilermaker once again E'Twaun Moore. Boston needed a young big man to aide Kevin Garnett in the middle. Brooks will help the Nets with his offensive talents off the bench. Good deal both ways.
Three team trade:
Portland: Raymond Felton, Tanguay Ngombo, future 2nd round pick
Denver: Andre Miller, Jordan Hamilton
Dallas: Rudy Fernandez, Petri Kopponen
Great trade for the NBA champs by gaining Fernandez and Kopponen, a free wheeling guard. Denver adds a great slasher in Hamilton and an aging veteran to steady the team with Miller. Portland gains a new member to their core, if they can keep him as Felton only has one more year on his contract. Good deal all the way around.
Two team trade:
Miami: Norris Cole
Minnesota: Bojan Bogdanovic, 2nd round pick and cash.
The Timberwolves were very active yesterday in making another trade. Miami gets the better of this deal by adding Cole who will prove to be a solid backup to Dwayne Wade, and Mike Bibby if they keep him.
Two team trade:
Minnesota: Cash, future 2nd round pick
New Jersey: Bogdanovic
Hard to see what Minnesota is doing. Bogdanovic is a solid shooter who may not contribute right away for the Nets. When he does come over, New Jersey will be getting a possible star in this league.
Two team trade:
Cleveland: Future 2nd round picks
Orlando: Justin Harper
Great trade for the Magic, gaining Harper from Richmond. He has the talent to join Dwight Howard up front for the Magic in the starting lineup. Cleveland is setting up for the future and possible good drafts ahead.
Two team trade:
Charlotte: Cash
Golden State: Jeremy Tyler
Tyler is something Golden State needs a low post scoring threat to help out David Lee. Tyler left the USA to play overseas after high school.
Two team trade:
New Orleans: Cash
New York: Josh Harrelson
Harrelson was a key figure for Kentucky during their run last year in the NCAA tournament. He will prove to be a key backup to Amare Stoudemire at New York. A good deal for the Knicks.
Two team trade:
Los Angeles: Future 2nd round pick
Denver: Chudwudiebere Maduabum
Denver grabs Maduabum with this late trade. The Nuggets will likely stash him overseas and let him develop before bringing the forward to the states.
