More physical play on tap for game three in the Eastern Finals?

May 22nd 2011 03:18
After a terrible fourth quarter in game two, what do we have in store for us tomorrow in game three? Miami beat Chicago, 85-75 to even up the Eastern Conference series at one game apiece on Wednesday. While we are at it, why does the Eastern Conference get one extra day off, while the Western Finals series has had two games since game two of the East? Hard to say, doesn't make sense, but for players like Udonis Haslem who are not used to the constant play, an added break helps. Miami takes over the home-court advantage after stealing game two, now what will the Heat do with this?

Nobody could hit a shot for the Bulls in game two as they faltered down the stretch. The Bulls couldn't even shoot a free throw, as they missed ten out of 26 there. Games like this come and go, now Derrick Rose and his teammates need to shoot better. Chicago needs to better at finding the open man. At any point in the game, there was an always someone open. Miami has great defenders, but they aren't as great as they are made out to be. Chicago has a great defense, everyone knows that, they are statistically great, Miami at times can compare. The Heat have a couple of great defenders on their team in Lebron James and Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh on occasion, Joel Anthony, but they are above average otherwise. Chicago needs to be more patient offensively, and not have Rose or someone else rush into an ill-advised shot.

Looking at the Heat, you got a team smarting after a hard-fought win which two guys really put the team on their shoulder. James and Haslem stepped up when the team needed them the most. Wade did a standout job in slowing Rose, but where was his offense in the fourth? Bosh after a great first game, took the night off on Wednesday. Miami needs his offensive output to have a better chance at winning. Only three guys played well for the Heat on Wednesday, Wade, Haslem, and James. Miami needs more of a team effort to stand a chance here in this series.

In watching game three of the Western Conference Finals here, as Oklahoma City begins to cut into a huge deficit, I realize anybody can win in this playoffs! Homecourt doesn't matter at all as road teams are winning with ease. Dallas was ahead by 21 in the 2nd quarter but that lead is down to 12 now with eight minutes to play. Both conference finals series have a great chance to go to seven games. Chicago gets back on track in game three and once again takes the lead in the series.
Mike Bibby has yet to have a good game in the playoffs for the Heat

This was always going to be a defensive series. The Bulls are obviously the best defensive team in the league, but the Heat were also the 5th best defense in the league. It's not like the Thunder and Mavs where we have a fast high-volume offense against an efficient shooting team. With the Heat and Bulls, we have two elite teams that can stop the other team's offense.
