Mini-Update on NBA Lockout
August 4th 2011 22:05
NBA Players Association director Billy Hunter expects the 2011-12 NBA season to be canceled. According to Hunter, NBA commissioner David Stern has no negioating leeway due to some hard-mined owners.
Hunter contends, a new group of owners have entered the NBA game in the past six or seven years and they are holding Stern's feet to the fire.
The two sides are $800 million apart, according to Hunter and nothing has happened to make him think negiotiations will get any better, anytime soon.
After three hours of meeting on Monday, the players and owners remained as far apart as they were in the lockout began. No new talks are scheduled. Things look very bleak for a league which is coming off on of their best in a decade.
