Miami Heat interested in Greg Oden

The Miami Heat lack a decent center. This much was certain during their struggles with Dallas in the NBA Finals. The Heat are interested in offering Greg Oden their $5 million exception deal. The Portland Trailblazers have already offered Oden $8.9 million for one more season.
Oden has only played in 82 games since getting drafted by the Blazers with the top pick back in 2007. Miami President Pat Riley is still interested in making a pitch for the big-man from Ohio State. He is also interested in Samuel Dalembert and Nene.
The trio of Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamal Magliore, and Erick Dampier prevented the Heat from having much of an inside presence last season. Now the Heat are looking to improve this issue.
The league is nearing completion of final points on the new CBA deal between the players and owners. The two sides hope to have a deal in place by Wednesday, so a vote can happen on Thursday. This will keep training camps and free agency on for Friday.
