Miami and Oklahoma City suffer first losses on Monday

The NBA's two final unbeaten teams both lost on Monday. The Miami Heat lost 100-92 to the visiting Atlanta Hawks. Oklahoma City fell to the defending NBA champs, Dallas by 13 points, 100-87.
Dallas entering the game with a record of 1-4, needed a big win to get back on track. This came thanks in large part to Dirk Nowitzki. The forward scored 26 points, and six rebounds in the game. Dallas broke open a close game in the second quarter with a late 9-2 run, giving them a seven-point advantage at halftime. The lead continued to grow in the third quarter as Dallas continued to get to the basket and convert easy shots. For the game, Dallas shot 48% to 40% for Oklahoma City.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 27 points, and Russell Westbrook added 18 points and eight rebounds. The Thunder return to action tonight, hosting the Portland Trailblazers. Dallas is off until tomorrow, when the Phoenix Suns come to town.
Atlanta went on a 15-3 run in to kick off the fourth quarter en route for the win. Atlanta guard Tracy McGrady was huge in the final quarter, draining two big three-pointers in the early going. McGrady scored 13 of his 16 points in the decisive quarter. Miami was in charge up until the fourth quarter, holding onto double-digit leads on multiple occasions. Though the team ran out of gas in the end. Lebron James led all scorers with 28 points for Miami, Chris Bosh added 19 for the Heat.
The Hawks are in action again today, traveling to Chicago. Miami is off until Wednesday for a game against the Indiana Pacers.
