Lebron set to return to Cleveland

December 1st 2010 01:14
Before I start this post, would like to thank my fiance and future wife for her willingness to watch sports with me. Thank you Sarah! I love you.

Thursday marks the much anticipated return of King Lebron to Cleveland. Lebron of course spent his first seven seasons in the NBA in Cleveland but left for Miami in the off-season. Lebron was drafted first in 2003 from high school and instantly made the Cavaliers an championship contender. Cleveland won 349 games with Lebron leading the way, an astounding 127 of those just in the previous two seasons.

Cleveland is 7-9 on the season without Lebron, Miami is not much better, sittting at an 10-8 mark. The experiment with Lebron, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh may pay off later on in the season, but it has not yet. Cleveland is overachieving right now with guard Mo Williams leading the way. Williams is averaging 16 points and five assists a game for the team. Williams missed five games due to a groin injury but has since returned.

James leads Miami averaging 23 points per game, while Wade chips in with 21 points. Right now the Heat are underachieving and figure to be around the top of the league before the season is over.

The Heat will arrive early Thursday after playing the night before against Detroit. Many Heat players have expressed their gratitude for this scheduling quirk, not having to be in Cleveland for an extra day before the game. Extra security will be at the game Thursday night as hostility is expected towards James in the form of boos. Cheers may also accompany those boos for Cleveland's all time scoring leader and two time league MVP.

I really don't care that LeBron joined the Heat. However, I really despise LeBron. It's the sole fact that he and Maverick Carter think that they can own the league and do whatever they want. LeBron never obeys his coach and tries to get them fired. Mike Brown was a good coach, and Erik Spoelstra is one of the greatest coaches right now. If Spoelstra gets fired, I will never put LeBron in my top ten list of NBA players. No great player ever blames his coach for something they didn't do. Besides, LeBron never follows the coaches game plans anyway. Just ask every exec in the league, they will tell you the same thing.
