Portland Trailblazers leader LaMarcus Aldridge was named to the western conference all-star team as a reserve on Thursday. This will be Aldridge's first all-star game appearance.
Joining Aldridge as a reserve on the Western Conference team is Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Love, Marc Gasol, Tony Parker, Steve Nash, and Russell Westbrook. Making the Eastern Conference as reserves are Luol Deng, Roy Hibbert, Chris Bosh, Andre Iguodala, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams.
This will be Iguodala's, Gasol's, and Deng's first all-star game appearances as well.
The starters for both conferences were named last week. Those are for the Western Conference: Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, and Andrew Bynum. The East's starters are: Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwight Howard.
