Johnny Jolly sentenced to six years in prison
November 18th 2011 04:20
Former Green Bay Packer defensive lineman Johnny Jolly was sentenced to six years in prison for his continued addiction to codeine.
Jolly was charged with having a product containing codeine, a compound substance in Houston back in October. He was also charged with attempting to tamper with the evidence.
Jolly was seen throwing out the product right before he got pulled over. The former Packer has had issues with the drug and has previously been in question for this addiction. Back in April a prison sentence was thrown out from having codeine in his possession as he promised to not stumble again. This time the judge did not have a kind heart as before.
He grew up in Houston and played college ball for Texas A%M. The Packers drafted Jolly in 2006 as a sixth-round pick and he started for the team in 2008 and 2009. The NFL suspended him for the entire last season due to drug problems.
The New York Jets are currently ahead of Denver, 13-10 with less then six minutes to play. The game has been quite boring. Denver's only touchdown came from a interception thrown by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Neither team has really played well offensively but the Jets are winning with the better defense. Sanchez though remains a hard one to figure out as he can have a good game then run into two straight bad games. Tim Tebow hasn't been much better tonight though.
