Jan Vesely Player Profile

The Washington Wizards need help everywhere on the roster. The team has a bright future at the point guard position with John Wall, and a strong center in JaVale McGee, plus power forward Andray Blatche showed some signs of being a decent player. With the sixth choice of the first round of the NBA Draft, I am projecting Washington grabs Jan Vesely an international player who played in Czechoslovakia. Vesely is a 6 ft. 11 in. forward who can play both positions. He is a little light at 230 pounds
and needs to add muscle, but the potential is there to be a good professional player.
Vesely began playing with youth clubs of his home country in 2007. He played for Geoplin Slovin at first before moving onto Partizan Belgrande. Vesely won nine club trophies while with Partizan Belgrande. The team has won the Serbian League Championship, Serbian Cup, and Adriatic three straight seasons from 2009-2011. Vesely was named FIBA Young Mans Player of the Year award in 2010. He averaged ten points, four rebounds, and an assist last year in the Adriatic league.
The forward is compared favorably to Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz. He has highlight reels all over the internet of him dunking. Vesely is known for great athleticism, but needs work shooting the ball long-range. He will not be a banger, so adding this extra element to his game is huge. The NBA and Euroleague basketball are very different styles of basketball. Vesely has a great motor and is known to frequently hang around the hoop, making most of his points on put-backs.
Washington has the makings of a playoff team in the near future with their young talent. Adding a strong European player to the mix will do wonders for the franchise. Vesely has the potential to be something great if he can add more elements to his game.
