Jamal Crawford signs with Portland

The Portland Trailblazers have signed former Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Jamal Crawford to an two-year deal worth $10 million. Crawford, a former teammate of Brandon Roy at the University of Washington, will likely fill the void as a clutch shooter.
Crawford also considered New York and Sacramento, though in the end went to Portland and his northwest roots. Portland now is expected to amnesty Roy before Friday to get his contract off the salary cap, to finalize this signing of Crawford.
Crawford is a 11-year veteran and his scoring average just tops 15 points per game. He can pass the ball out of the two-guard spot, with around four assists.
In other signings on Thursday, former Blazer Bonzi Wells has signed with Minnesota. No terms of the deal were disclosed and the Timberwolves will have to release someone to keep Wells as they already have a roster of 15 people. Wells has been out of the league for since 2008, but has connected with new Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman.
