One day after the New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin scored 20 points, and had eight assists and six rebounds, one has to wonder will his fiery stretch continue?
In his first four starting appearances, the guard has totaled 109 points. This is the most in NBA history, topping Allen Iverson by eight points. Shaquille O'Neal scored just 100 points in his first four starts, Michael Jordan: 99 points. Lin triumphs over them all. Will this continue?
When looking at the New York Knicks roster, you notice how they have two very capable players who have missed most of this recent five-game stretch. Those are Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. Stoudemire for family reasons and Anthony due to an injury. So when everyone returns, expect the points for Lin to go down. Though, the assists could sky-rocket to double-figures each game. The Knicks fast-break style of offense should exceed 100 points every night.
Lin has great talent, I am sure those teams who let him go before this stretch are kicking themselves. Lin is not just a flash in the pan. He will if given the opportunity, prosper in this league. Right now the Knicks are the beneficary of his great play.
