The New York Knicks just won their seventh straight game of the young season. Yes it was over the Washington Wizards but they are showing signs of great improvement. Point guard Raymond Felton is doing an magnificent job of running the uptempo offense.Spanish player Danilo Gallinari has been shooting lights out. But the main ingredient for the teams winning ways is big man Amare Stoudemire.
Last season at this point in the season the Knicks were 8-16. After the Friday win, New York is 15-9. Stoudemire is third in the league in scoring averaging 25.7 points a game. He is right behind Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. Stoudemire is pulling down on average nine rebounds a game.
New York as a team is second in the NBA behind Phoenix scoring 108 points per game. They are giving up 106 points each game on average which could catch up with them. More defense is needed for the stretch of the season.
New York will not likely compete for one of the top three spots with Boston, Orlando and Miami in the Eastern Conference. But the fourth spot is up for grabs. They are definitely a playoff worthy team, and the early season run is prove.
