The NBA-owned New Orleans Hornets have agreed to trade point guard Chris Paul to the LA Clippers, pending league approval which is expected by tonight.
The Clippers will send Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon, and Al-Faruaq Aminu to New Orleans. The Hornets will also get Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first round draft pick and two future second round draft picks from the Hornets.
Aminu is a second-year player out of Wake Forest. Last season, he averaged 6 points in minimal activity. Kaman is one of the leagues better centers. He averaged 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots last season. Kaman will be in his eighth season in the league. Gordon, is another budding star in the league. He averaged 22 points, four rebounds, and three assists last year for the Clippers.
Paul wanted a trade to the NY Knicks, but there wasn't that much for the Hornets to ask for in exchange. A proposed three team trade involving the Houston Rockets and LA Lakers was turned down last week. Further talks ended in nothing. Now Paul, who in his career averages 19 points, ten assists and five rebounds per game will become a Clipper.
